World Book Day 2026

World Book Day Brings Stories to Life at Jack Hunt Academy

This year’s World Book Day at Jack Hunt Academy was a spectacular celebration of reading, imagination, and creativity. The entire school community got involved, making it a day to remember for students and staff alike.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing staff from all departments – not just the English team – embrace the spirit of the occasion. Teachers and support staff dressed up as an incredible variety of well-known book characters, bringing beloved stories to life in the corridors and classrooms. From classic literary figures to modern favorites, the range of costumes was both imaginative and inspiring, delighting students as they spotted characters from books they know and love.

At Jack Hunt Academy, fostering a love of reading is at the heart of our mission. World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity to encourage students to explore new stories, discover different authors, and develop reading habits that they can carry with them long after they leave school. The event also highlights how reading can be fun, engaging, and a source of inspiration for everyone in the school community.

Students were buzzing with excitement, sharing their favourite books and guessing the characters their teachers had chosen. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and a shared passion for the magic of stories.

We’re proud to support initiatives like World Book Day, which inspire creativity and help cultivate lifelong readers. Be sure to check out our gallery of photos from the day – see if you can name all the book characters who visited Jack Hunt Academy!
