Supporting Mrs Gooding’s London Marathon Fundraiser
You can donate to this amazing cause via Mrs Goodings fundraising page - Wendy Gooding is fundraising for UK Sepsis Trust
Our students have worked exceptionally hard this year to ensure they meet our values of Hard Work, Integrity and Kindness. We have been really impressed with their overall behaviour in school. It is for this reason we would like to reward all students by offering a Non-Uniform day on Friday 6 March 2026.
Mrs Gooding (Assistant Headteacher) will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 26 April 2026 and will be raising money for The UK Sepsis Trust. We would like students to give a donation of at least £1 at the school gates before entering the site to the support this fantastic cause.
Mrs Gooding has shared how Sepsis has impacted her;
“Some 9 years ago I sadly lost my husband to Sepsis. Guy was fit and I thought healthy and led a very active lifestyle. He had cycled 100 miles the week before his death. When he came home from work one Friday, I was not expecting to lose him 4 four days later. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs, with the immune system going into overdrive. In the UK five people every hour lose their life from Sepsis, that is 48,000 people every year. The UK Sepsis Trust is committed to raising the awareness of Sepsis and to significantly reducing the number of people impacted. Although very active, I have never run a marathon, this will be a huge challenge for me and I would really welcome you support.”
Students should continue to show our values on that day and we ask that they wear clothing, which is suitable and sensible clothing for a school day and follow the criteria below:
· Clothing that is sensible and practical for lessons.
· Hoodies are acceptable.
· Tops should cover midriffs, shoulders and back. Materials must not be see-through.
· No sandals/sliders or high heels.
· No clothing that shows/ highlights any political views; no political/national badges or artefacts etc.
· No flags.
· PE Lessons will still run; students should wear ‘Active wear’ if they have PE lessons.
Please note that the standard of dress needs to be appropriate for school and in cases of uncertainty the school’s interpretation is definitive. If any student fails to meet our standards, they will be isolated. Parents will be asked to bring in school uniform for them to change into.
If students do not demonstrate our values of Hard Work, Integrity and Kindness before or during the final day of term, then this reward will be withdrawn for individuals.
We hope that students will enjoy this reward opportunity for meeting the school’s values Hard Work, Integrity and Kindness.
