Year 11 Explore Cambridge on an Inspiring Academic Enrichment Trip

Year 11 students enjoyed an exciting and enriching visit to Cambridge this week, accompanied by Miss Quinn. The day began with an engaging presentation on effective revision strategies and the value of super-curricular activities, giving students practical tools to support their upcoming GCSE studies.

Students then visited the University of Cambridge Library to explore the fascinating Curious Cures: Medicine in the Medieval World exhibition. Working in teams, they completed an information scavenger hunt, uncovering surprising historical remedies and deepening their understanding of medieval medical practices.

The scavenger hunt was followed by a guided tour of the Cambridge University Library itself. Students were captivated by the scale, history and significance of this world-renowned research library.

A well-deserved lunch of pizza and cake gave everyone the energy boost they needed before the final part of the day. Students were offered the choice of visiting either the Fitzwilliam Museum or the Scott Polar Research Institute, where they took part in interactive activities and explored world-class collections.

The trip offered a perfect balance of academic enrichment, cultural exploration and fun—an experience that has left students inspired and motivated for the year ahead.
