Tall Ships 2025: A Voyage to Remember

Jack Hunt Students Return from an Unforgettable Sea Adventure
We are thrilled to welcome back our sea-faring students from their week-long voyage aboard Challenger 1, part of this year’s Tall Ships Youth Trust sailing adventure. The Tall Ships 2025 trip proved to be a life-changing experience, full of challenge, teamwork, and discovery.
Here’s a look at their incredible journey:
Day 1 – Setting Sail
Our students wasted no time getting stuck in—boarding Challenger 1, preparing the yacht, and hoisting sails as they set course for Osborne Bay. With everyone hands-on from the start, the crew quickly found their rhythm, ending the day anchored and already showing strong teamwork.
Day 2 – Hard Work at Sea
A full day of sailing tested their strength and spirit. From trimming sails to navigating challenging conditions, the group powered on, anchoring in Swanage Bay by day’s end. Exhausted but accomplished, they looked forward to a more relaxed day ahead.
Day 3 – Beach Bliss & Birthday Cheers
The well-earned beach day brought sunshine, sea games, and a beach BBQ. Spirits were sky-high as the group celebrated two student birthdays on board before docking in Poole for the evening. But the excitement didn’t stop there—night sailing was up next.
Day 4 – Ready for the Night Watch
With preparations underway for night sailing, students spent the day cleaning the yacht, playing team games, and reflecting on their journey so far. As they anchored once more in Osborne Bay, anticipation grew for sailing beneath the stars.
Day 5 – Finishing Strong
The final day saw all the skills come together. Sailing from Poole, students took on navigation, hoisting the mainsail, a man overboard drill—and even jumped in for a celebratory swim! A true test of resilience and seamanship.
Voyage Complete
From hoisting sails to swimming in open sea, our students showed courage, teamwork, and an adventurous spirit every step of the way. We are incredibly proud of all who took part in this unforgettable voyage.
Here’s to new horizons, lasting friendships, and the power of the sea to inspire young minds.
