Inspiring Visit to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award Ceremony

Mrs Maslin and Mr Kent lead Jack Hunt in D of E program

Staff from Jack Hunt School had the honour of attending the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Ceremony last Friday, representing the school at an event celebrating outstanding achievements by young people from across the country.

The ceremony was a truly inspiring occasion, showcasing the dedication, perseverance, and leadership of Gold Award recipients. One particularly memorable moment was a powerful speech by Poppy, a young person who overcame the challenges of autism to complete her Gold Award. Her story resonated deeply with all those present, reminding us of the life-changing impact the DofE programme can have.

At Jack Hunt School, we are proud to be growing our own Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme. This year’s Bronze Award expeditions are set to begin shortly, and preparations are well underway—thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of our staff volunteers, who play a vital role in making these opportunities possible.

We look forward to the day when Jack Hunt students stand on the stage to receive their own Gold Awards, knowing their journey began right here.
